Estonian Film Festival Taking Place in Eminent London University

The Estonian film festival “Disco and Atomic War” will begin at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) on Thursday, 11 February.
Within the framework of the three-day festival, six documentary and feature films will be shown that reflect various facets of Estonian life and cinema. At the centre of the festival is Jaak Kilm and Kiur Aarma’s documentary “Disco and Atomic War”, which has had successful screenings at other film festivals in Great Britain. There is a discussion scheduled after the screening that will be led by the film’s screenwriter and producer Kiur Aarma and University College London political science professor Allan Sikk.
Other films on the schedule are Asko Kase’s “December Heat”, Kersti Uibo’s “Narrow is the Gate”, Elmo Nüganen’s “Mindless”, and two short films by Margus Paju. The films will have introductions and commentary by director Kersti Uibo, Estonian director in London Liisa Smith, and the chairman of the British-Estonian Association Neil Taylor. The festival is organised by Estonian students at the LSE along with the Estonian Embassy in London.
