From 21^st September to 1^st October Estonian Cultural Days will take place in Antwerp.

We would like to present the Best of Estonian Culture, combining contemporary and traditional; combining film, music, theatre and folk culture.

To acknowledge the fact that Antwerp as the capital of Flanders has the honour to bear the title of the European Capital of Youth this year.

Tallinn as the capital of Estonia is the European Capital of Culture now. In view of this a number of events will be focused on children and young audience.

To mark the fact that this autumn we celebrate the 15^th anniversary of concluding the first cooperation agreement between Estonian Government and the Government of Flanders.

To mark the 20^th anniversary of regaining of independence of Estonia. As a small nation our identity is very closely linked to our culture and language.

A psychological drama by Sulev Keedus. In 1944 tens of thousands of people left the ground of their homeland in fear of approaching frontline. Some villages on the seashore remained completely empty.

The introvert Joosep is an ideal target for bullies in his class. He is insulted, his belongings are taken away and after sports lessons he is pushed naked into girls’ dressing room.

Tenor sax player Kristjan Mazurtchak, Erki Pärnoja on guitars and Kaspar Kalluste on percussions are young and ardent musicians. All three have already made their way on jazz, pop as well as rock scene and received number of prizes on several festivals in Estonia.

On the occasion of the celebrations around the European Day of Languages, EUNIC in Brussels in cooperation with the STIB will be displaying poems in their original language and in translation by poets from all across Europe.

Kadri Voorand & Raivo Tafenau quintet featuring also Estonian top bass guitarist Mihkel Mälgand, virtuous percussionist Eno Kollom and Jürmo Eespere on piano performing composition for Estonian lyrics.

The trio has performed in Estonia since the late 1990’s and in 2007 they released the CD "no99 jazzklubis" (AVA Muusika) which was very well received by the critics. Two years later the trio released their second album "Tuljak" (AVA Muusika) which contains jazz arrangements of choral songs by the first Estonian female composer Miina Härma (1864-1941). The ensemble has performed literally everywhere in Estonia and also in Azerbaidjan, Russia and Scotland.

The sax player Villu Veski and the accordionist Tiit Kalluste are both men well-versed in matters jazzy, folksy and improvisational. Curiously enough, it was only few years ago when they jointly discovered the singular grace and melancholy of the music of the North. After a number of duo concerts the tightly bonded tandem "stumbled" into the music of the Faroe Islands.
